Product Description
The
kidde 25-foot escape ladder provides a way to escape fires or other emergencies and offers your family an essential piece of safety equipment if you live in a two- or three-story home. The National Fire Protection Association recommends one ladder in every occupied room on floors above the main level. This durable ladder stores conveniently under the bed or near a window and deploys quickly and easily. It will support a maximum weight of 1,000 pounds when the load is distributed on more than one rung, while the maximum weight for each rung is 750 pounds. The metal rung steps prevent slippage to ensure a safe climb down, and its tangle-free design makes for easy packing and repacking. No assembly or tools are required, and it is backed by a 5-year warranty.
All potential consumers need to know this product is a "one time use only" ladder. No practice runs allowed. I did not know this when I purchased it and returned it due to that fact. I wanted a ladder we could practice on and have on hand in an emergency.
I was surprised to learn that this emergrncy ladder is made for one use omly!
The ladder had scuff marks on it when I took it out of the box. Hmm... Was this a return? If so, why'd they send it back?
More importantly, I tried it out and found it would not hook to the sill securely. It looked like it would slip off - I'm not putting my weight on THAT. Better to find that out when I'm checking it out, rather than when I REALLY need it.
And the instructions were difficult to figure out, so I'm displeased with the putchase, and it's going back.
Tried it out. Very easy to use and very study. Metal rungs with metal stand-offs that keep it held against the wall so it is easy to climb down.
the ladder is long enough for 3 stories and seems to be easy to use. i purchased as a gift for family. hopefully they'll never need it. i esp. like it because it seems more stable and stands well away from the building. think it might have been a little hard to repack after they checked it out though, hence 4 stars.
This is something everyone should have who live in a 2 and above level residence. This is well made, sturdy and easy to use.
This item was ordered as a Christmas gift. We were expecting delivery within 3-10 days. Imagine our surprise when the merchandise was delivered 24 hours later. Fanastic!
After the horrible house fire that took the lives of 7 college students, I felt that my beach home was a fire trap also. I have a rental home at the beach that is 3 stories tall with no excape route. I don't know if the house that caught on fire had excape ladders or not, but I do know that mine do not. Trying to find anyone that sold excape ladders for these tall beach homes was hard. Most beach home living spaces start on the second floor. After checking several local stores I came to Amazon and was not disappointed. I received my 2 ladders for the 3rd floor living spaces in 2 days. They will be in maked accessible areas for renters for find easly. I now feel confident that I have provided an easy escape in case of a fire. Amazon also sells ladders for much taller structures in case they are needed.
I like the way its built and easy enough for even a kid to use it.
This is a great piece of mind, easy to use safty product this provides a little piece of mind. I hope to never use it!

usps 10-Lb Digital Postal Scale
Small scale, seems accurate and does what it is supposed to do - weigh letters and small packages. Not good for large boxes even if under ten pounds as the platform is compact.
I've owed this product a few years. Haven't used it too often but I've been pleased with it when I have used it. It takes alittle while to figure out it functions again because it may be six months or more between uses. Well worth the cheap price.
Huh. This scale worked fine enough in theory, but basically started falling apart within a few months of owning it, even under very light use.
After about 6 months of use, it stopped recognizing the AC adapter, and so would only run in battery mode. Three months later, it started giving basically random (and ever-increasing) weights for anything put on the scale, and so I had to throw it away.
Not recommended.
Doing small volume eBay business, this scale is just what I needed to allow accurate shipping pricing on my listings. It registers exactly the same as post office scales. I'm very pleased with it. It saves me time and money
by purchasing my postage on line.
I've been using this scale nearly every day for many months now. It's perfectly accurate and dependable, but incredibly frustrating for all but small packages. Larger packages block the readout, and the weight reading vanishes as soon as you remove the package. The last scale I had held the reading for several seconds, and I'm now looking for another scale that does that, as I've hit my limit for trying to adjust the package "just so" to read the weight, or remove it fast enough, or get down on the floor to try to read it under the package!
I've been using this scale regularly for over a month now to weigh packages that I sell via the Amazon Marketplace. It's compact, simple to use, and looks to be well built. It's exactly what I was looking for in a postal scale.
it took me a few tries before I figured out that it weighs in fractions of an ounce - so I was getting 1.9 etc for really light packages, which means 1.9 ounces. It only shows lbs when it's heavy enough - and it seems to be pretty accurate. I use it to ship things with PayPal shipping via USPS and I have to round up to whole ounces anyway, so it doesn't seem to effect the cost of postage negatively. As far as I can tell, I'm paying exactly what I would if I took it to the post office and had them weigh it, so it works great for me.
Top scale, very handy to use, and saves time on not having to weight it at the PO or UPS store.
Have used this product for 1 month now. I have to say it functions perfectly. I ship a lot of small packages. Scale weighs small, light packages with great accuracy. Have not had any problems at the post office with inaccurate weights. If you have a small business and need to ship small packages, this is the scale you need. It's worth the money.
It works quite well for my purposes. It's consistent and accurate. It take a few seconds for the weight to equilibrate. My only complaint is that the surface is pretty small, so it doesn't work as well for larger items.

Black on white 1/2" tape for the
brother PTouch PT100, PT110, PT55BM, PT55S, PT65, PT65SB, PT70, PT80, PT85 Labelers / Yield: 26.2 ft. long
This a great product and very quick shipping. Its cheaper to buy 2 or 3 and save on shipping.I am going to be a returning customer!!Thank you!!
The Brother labeler this goes to has been terrific, both at work and at home. I use it to label all my file folders to keep bills straight, etc. The tape cartridges seem to last a fair amount of time, certainly longer than with any other labelers I've used. And the price on Amazon was the best I found anywhere.
The products themselves are great! They were packaged well, and I have had no problems at all with the quality. It took a little longer than I expected to receive the items. May have been an isolated incident, or that they just take longer when working through a middle-man (amazon). This was my first experience with them so I'm not sure...
Brother tape is the best quality tape out there. the print quality is great and the tape stays put! Not only do I use it at home but myself and my coworkers use it at work!
I've been using the P-Touch PT-80 for over a year and just ran out of tape. The product works great for labeling files, wires, or anything else.
I noticed some reviewers said the tape was hard to peel. The PT-80 has a tape peeler feature (just a little slot) that gets the peel started and works like a champ.
it goes into the machine, labels come out. it works. I wouldn't have expected anything less.
This tape lasts a good while, and I purchased it at a much better cost than the ridiculous markup at places like OfficeMax or Office Depot.
Nothing but a good experience, and will buy from again.
We really enjoy using our labeler, it makes our products look very professional. Amazon makes ordering the product you need so very simple.
It doesn't say so on this item, but this roll only has 26 feet. That might sound like a lot, but that's 11.5 cents for 3 inch label. That's a rip-off; that whole roll of tape couldn't have more than $2 in manufacturing costs.
Sure beats the individual cost at office supply stores when purchased in volume.
Nice transaction

Scan Anywhere. Get Organized! The
iriscan Express is pure portability powered by an extended software suite, so you can get things done!
It's a little slow...but if you don't have big scanner needs and just want a compact scanner for occasional use then look no further. This scanner is easy to use, light and portable.
Greatly disappointed. The software provided did not function with Vista. Would not scan. After several reinstallations, removal caused a system crash. Support is extremely weak. No guidance on website, superficial fixes to problems, very little documentation. After several days waiting for response to my email asking for help, I received direction to contact them by phone 9-5, M-F EST, as if some of us don't have to work for a living. Never received an answer to my second email. Product has been returned.
I just needed a scanner to copy receipts for submission while on the road.
This one is compact, packs easily, doesn't need a separate power supply.
I like it a lot, but have never tried the OCR feature.
I purchased this scanner with two goals in mind: first, to have a portable scanner I could take with me on business, and second, to simply convert paper documents into pdf files.
Unfortunately, I was never able to successfully meet the second goal.
If you are a person who is only trying to convert paper documents to a pdf file, and you don't have many hours of free time, then DO NOT purchase this item. If, however, you are a home-user with lots of free time to learn and understand the myriad options available, and you don't mind troubleshooting performance problems, troubleshooting software installation, etc... then this is definitely the toy you've been looking for to fritter away a couple of weekends.
I experienced numerous problems installing the software, and since there is no manual (it's on the CD and requires software installation) it was almost impossible to troubleshoot. Finally, I was able to install the software, which installed "button manager" tools in my desktop tray that I never used or needed. Next, I tried to scan a document. After literally 2 hours and 15 minutes of frustration, I was able to figure out how to scan a document (NO, I don't want to convert it to editable text, NO I don't want to enhance it, NO I don't want to automatically crop it, NO... can I just scan it, and save it as a PDF please? PLEASE??? No such thing. After hours of trying to figure out if it scans to PDF, I was never able to do it. I gave up and scanned everything in jpeg images, which created huge files. Then, the next time I tried to use the scanner, errors popped up, and I had to unplug the USB cable, plug it back in, and then fiddle around with the options to troubleshoot it. After some trial and error, I once again got it to work (had to turn off the automatic cropping feature that I don't want or need). After a month of using the scanner, it started scanning only portions of the document, leaving the remainder of the document either blank or blacked-out. I was never able to troubleshoot or fix this, since it does it only intermittently.
So I gave up, purchased a $39 flat bed scanner, installed the software in 8 minutes, and scanned to PDF files in another 5 minutes.
Now, to be fair, I'm sure this little scanner will eventually do what you want it to, but I lack the patience and the hours of free time in my job to mess around with learning the myriad different options and settings. Once again, if you want to perform a simple task, buy a simpler product.

Finally a real portable/travel scanner for MAC OS X. Nothing powerful as no duplex (copying both side in one pass). Its small foot space and no need to have/use a clunky AC adapter makes it convenient to take when traveling. Good to great software included. Worth the price and even better when on sale or with rebate. Can be a memory hog if scanning too much.
Remember in the 1960s when you'd buy a product made in Asia that would come with English-language instructions? Well the instructions for this are even worse. It's actually a fantastic product, but I don't understand some of its features and can't gather the info I need either from the company's web site or what is included in the box. Also, WARNING: Don't lose the calibration sheet that comes with this (as I did) because just when you need the scanner to work best, it will ask for that sheet and won't work again until you insert it.
Like many Mac users I'd been frustrated in my search for a native Mac business card scanner. The IRIScan Express 2 seemed to have all the right features, and the price was right. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Here are the issues
- Under OS 10.5.1 (and I'd bet every other release) the software crashes regularly and takes unsaved data with it
- Complex interface. I'm the guy everyone comes to for computer help, and it took me a frustrating hour to understand how to use the item
- Product activation codes that shipped with system were wrong. Was able to get them from IRIScan user support, but it took a few days. And of course before I figured out the problem was wrong codes I wasted an hour or two troubleshooting
- Compared to Cardscan for Windows, the OCR is primitive. It does OK if the card has large black type on a white background, but that's it. Different colors or unusual layouts throw it way off though Cardscan can read most of them OK.
Next step for me? I'll either use Cardscan under bootcamp and this app to move data to address book http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19177 or I'll just start entering cards manually.
If you are looking at this purely as a doc scanner and don't plan on using the OCR software, it may be OK- its small and seems well made. However, my guess is you can do better elsewhere.
It did exactly what it claimed to do. When I called their customer support i got a person not an answering machine and my question was answered. My question was the scanner wasn't working on a 2nd PC. The problem was i did not follow the installation procedures on my 2nd install, and i had to redo the install.
Overall, it works with no issues.
After reading the nasty review below I was hesistant, but then I saw all the references to another product and just figured it was a competitor. I have the iris biz card scanner and it works like they said it would, so I have had good luck with their products. I saw this portable scanner being demo'd at macworld and decided to buy at Amazon because they had the best price. It works like I expected. Its small, easy to travel with, doesnt seem slow to me when scanning and is very accurate which is most important to me. Has a bunch of software included but I prob won't use some of them, just scanning documents and business cards while traveling are my needs and it does it great. I would recommend.
