I had a Epson that I loved and I thought I try this brand because my computer was a HP and I wanted a all in one printer and fax. I was printing thank you cards with a signature and ruined quite a few trying to load the card for printing. I was use to the Epson which loaded in the back and never really had problems. After getting use to loading, I feel that for the price that is is a pretty good printer. I printed photos and text and looks sharp. I don't have a business. For home printing, I print around 25 sheets a week because I am now unemployed. The only complaint, is that it makes a lot of noise when printer is starting up. I am unsure why, but it prints fine. I would buy again.


New printer, I have several other HP officejet's, for the price this is a good one, I think I got it for around $90, I think you can find it cheaper. Copy and scan is slow so, don't buy it for multiple pages. Printing is fast and clean! a little smaller then, say, a J6310.


Nice printer, you will need support to get it setup, but once that's done it's pretty decent. Prints fine and the wireless feature is wonderful. However it is not without issues....There seems to be a conflict with HP and Windows Vista "driver problem". I keep getting a popup telling me I need to download a driver but there is nothing to click inside the popup window, so it does not work. Also, from time to time it knocks my printer off-line for some reason, though is hasn't done it lately, which I believe is part to the driver issue. Also, spits paper everywhere.


We've had the HP J4580 all-in-one printer for a couple of months and it's great. When you turn it on it makes some REALLY loud hard knocking/clicking sounds but once it's ready to print it does a great job. So far it seems to be a great buy for the money we paid. We don't do a whole lot of printing so we haven't used up the starter ink cartridges so I can't comment on how quickly it goes through ink but the finished print jobs we have done looked great. I would recommend this printer.


I bought this based on reviews. I too thought it was great.....until I started scanning. There is a known HP defect with scanning to PDF - a simple one page document is created as a pdf file that is over 1 mb. The same goes for images. read the HP discussion site before you consider this as a scanner.
It is fine as a printer or fax only.


The HP OFFICEJET J4580 All in one is an amazing little guy.

For the small price of $89.00 I was ready to dismiss it as junk. I mean, really. A quality printer, copier, scanner and fax machine for less than $100? Forget it.

I was wrong. It is an excellent piece of gear at an amazing price. I began using HP's Officejets several years ago with the HP 2500 series and I also own the HP C7280 - both of which are sturdy, reliable, capable machines. But dollar-for-dollar, this unit does just as good a job and is as fast and as reliable as its more expensive counterparts.

One note - this unit does not have Bluetooth capability nor does it come network-ready (and does not have a USB 2 cable with it). But for a dedicated printer connected to a workstation or laptop, this unit will delight even a discriminating user and surprise the cynic.




i love the printer its perfect and the ink for it is cheaper that my stupid dell so im satisfied except one thing that it doesnt come with a usb becuase if i didnt have a printer i would have been messed up


I've wasted a lot of time clearing jams from the adf. I bought it mainly for a scanner, and I give up on the thing. I will be returning it today.


Great All-In_one, especially for the price. Very simple set up, and I have had zero problems with it.


I purchased this printer to use for my new hobby: card making. It was inexpensive & serves my purpose perfectly. The only complaint I have is that if you need technical support try the user guide on internet instead of calling - the call center is not in the USA & it's hard to understand the broken language of the techs.
