Ditto on all the positive comments. This thing is great. It's fast. It's quiet. The software is well designed. I have not yet experienced the paper feeding issues some people note. It has done very well with crinkled paper and paper full of staple holes (staples removed of course).


This scanner has made my life better. I scan thousands of pages that, at one time, I would have stored in filing cabinets. They're now better organized and take less space. Tax time is easier, my desk is cleaner, legal documents can be found remotely when I'm at my office.

The scanner has paid for itself many times over.

This is the best scanner ever. So simply made, fast and easy. I couldn't believe I have been suffering using Canon MP760 as a scanner all these years. I would recommend this scanner to everyone.


I have had several scanners to work with Macintosh and have generally been pleased with them. We still have an all-in-one flatbed printer/scanner/copier and would replace it immediately if it failed. We are in sales and the ScanSnap was purchased in an attempt to be more efficient in our home office. So far it has worked perfectly. We will scan in that sheet of paper in an instant, create a searchable pdf and file it in our hard drive. The multiple sheets we get as sales reports that are created by management that seem to be designed to burden the sales people are scanned in a couple minutes and filed in a searchable file that we can take with us on our laptops. I have not explored all the possibilities but it is working simply and easily for what I wanted it to do.


The ScanSnap S510M Scanner is the best investment I have made for time saving document handling.


I should have got this scanner earlier. As others note, this scanner is head-and-shoulders above all other scanners. Excellent suite of software, obviously high quality hardware.


My office has 5 of them. It's REALLY nice and no problem at all!

It's little expensive but it's make save your a lot time.

I need buy one more... Because everybody want... LOL

When I got lost one day in my labyrinth of stacked journal articles, receipts, photographs, and other paper detritus, I knew I needed help.

While Timothy Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich, might suggest outsourcing the scanning all my documents into digital format for storage, in order to eliminate the paper yet retain the useful information, I first decided to go the manual route. This meant finding a good, easy-to-use, fast, document scanner that works on my Mac, and I think I found just that in the Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner.


With a footprint smaller than an 8.5x11" sheet of paper, the ScanSnap is really cutting through my stacks of documents. It handles multiple pages and makes fast, two-sided, color pdfs of the documents with just one button push. It also easily scans in photographs, business cards, envelopes, etc. The software gives you a choice of saving the pdf to a folder, emailing it, printing it, importing into iPhoto, part of iLife '09, or creating a searchable pdf. The latter makes the contents of your pdf document searchable by your OS or other search/filter applications, for instant retrieval of information buried in a large document repository.

"One touch" pdf creation, indeed.
