I purchased this simply because it was so inexpensive but have been very pleased with it. It is larger than the printer I had before (can't remember the brand)and takes a little longer to print a new label because you have to add the address to a database rather than just directly to the labeler but it is easier to load the label rolls and has much more versatility for doing different kinds of labels. I recommend it.

Wow, was I relieved to see that the reviewer below had experienced a problem identical to my own. It does make me wonder what the folks at Panasonic are thinking by marketing this phone. There is something terribly wrong with it. I've kicked myself many times for having purchased this system. Like the reviewer below, all of my handsets do the same thing. They cut out without warning. The voice at the other end of the line begins to fade and the next thing you know, you're running to another room to pick up another handset. I've been through the whole process described below of unplugging all of the handsets and removing the batteries and putting them all together again. Not fun. Then they will work for a short time and go right back to malfunctioning. After numerous conversations with Panasonic Tech Support I finally got fed up and said, where do I send these back. And I did send them and they were replaced under warranty. Duh, the replacement phones do exactly the same thing. Do not buy this model. Something is wrong in the design. You may get a good one, you may get one like mine. Not worth it. Destroyed my faith in Panasonic.

You can find more sheets of paper for less money in similar paper products, but not of this quality. Those inexpensive pads are adequate for younger children; we all know how they often enjoy scribbling one line per page and then tossing the unfinished "work" ... or pasting it to the fridge AS IS! Daddy's little budding artists ... lol ...
But this Strathmore product is definitely for the more advanced artist who wants a sketch that s/he can frame, if desired. This paper is of a higher quality in an aesthetic cream color, appropriate for highlighting details of the artist's best illustrations.
Since each pad contains twenty-four 80lb. acid-free sheets per spiral-bound pad, that's approximately six sheets per dollar. What a bargain!

The Olympus DS-40 IS an UP Scale looking recorder with a good software system. Bought this for my wife who prefers cheaper items. As soon as she saw it, 'she indicated you must have really paid something for this recorder. Her sense of a good buy is a thousand dollar item for $5.00 I realized it can't pass for cheap. That being said it cost a little over a hundred dollars. Which for a first rate recorder, isn't bad. It's small in size, has a good feel and is intuitive in use. It has a large clear backlit screen for easy viewing. Music plays in mp3 and WMA formats in sterio. Yes, you can use your ipod sterio ear buds. The DS-40 has three mic senisitatives and can be easily changed by an exteral switch. They are listed as lecture, conference and ditation. I tend to like the conference setting. Music plays in full, warm and clear tones. One tip to those who buy this recorder. On the right side is record, stop and play butttons. One can also activate PLay by hitting the front center ok/menu button. Hitting the side play button ALSO changes the playback speed. I didn't realize this and in advertinly changed to slow. My voice sounded very slow and draggy,I was quite concerned at this, since I have previously had a stroke and thought I actually sounded like this. I was quite relieved to find that I
had it on the wrong speed. On the normal speed my voice sounded G R E A T.
You will find this recorder one of your best investments.

This voice recorder has excellent sound quality and transferring files to a computer is very easy. My only gripe is that it has 15 buttons (!) and a plastic-faced electronic display exposed on the outside and it does not come with a case. This means that the most natural place you'd like to put it (in your pocket) really isn't an option if you have keys or anything sharp in your pocket. Otherwise, I am very happy with this unit for note taking and dictating at the office.

The Olympus DS-40 is a very good recorder. Several recording speeds to choose from and one can even slow or quicken the playback speed. The Mic is sensitive and accurate. I find the machine small and lightweight easy to use. I am a casual user of the recorder, however I think it's great and really don't see any major cons. The only con I see is with the supplied Olympus earplugs, the sound is great, however the wide bud shape makes them feel a bit uncomfortable to use. I give the ear buds a 2 out 5 simply because of the fit. Bottom line DS-40 is a great recorder.

I use it mostly for converting 35mm slides to jpgs. Sometimes, for some reason, the scanner treats the slides as negatives. You need to change the order of the slides in the holder to "fool" it back to the 35mm setting. Other than that, it's been great.

I bought this unit at [...] (they don't carry it anymore) in March 2007. I write this in July 2009. I can't wait to get rid of it. I have owned HP multi-units in the past & they simply didn't have near the poor design & poor performance of this one. For some reason the "No Paper" warning comes up on a constant basis-- there is a full ream in the tray! I have to reboot everything & call Brother to dicker with it & get it cleared. I've had loud banging noises upon paper reload. I've had End of Drum is near, right after replacing the drum. The manual feed (single feed/envelope) tray needs babying and manual set up every damn time. I don't like the fact that I can't get an automatic fax confirmation, like I could with my HP unit. It is an enormously complex and non-user friendly item that needs constant babying. I bought a lemon & shame on [...] for getting into this piece of junk. It is a small-office nightmare. Run, don't walk away from this Brother LEMON!

Last year, I bought this multifunction center for our office with six employees. It's set up as a printer, scanner, copier, and fax hooked up by USB cable to a desktop computer and configured as a shared printer. We also have a telephone with answering machine connected in case someone calls our fax number by mistake, or if we want to use the fax phone line to make a call. The scanner is set to save scans onto a network drive, so users can scan their documents and access them from their own computers. The MFC can also be configured to transmit faxes from any computer on the network, although I have not tried this feature.
The biggest problem so far was that we originally used the Windows share name to connect to the network printer, i.e. \\computer\printer. This method for connecting to the network share proved unreliable, so we configured the desktop to have a static IP address and used that to connect to the printer, i.e. \\192.168.100.60\printer. We also had a problem receiving faxes when the answering machine on the connected telephone filled up, so that the telephone never picked up. Neither of these problems was the fault of the Brother MFC, but be aware that configuring all the features of the MFC may take some in-depth knowledge, time, and troubleshooting.
Offices with a small volume of printing can get by with this unit alone. Offices with a high volume of printing may want to consider an additional unit dedicated to printing which is designed to handle a high volume of printouts at minimal expense.

Great product. It adds a bit of thickness to the Macbook, but the protection of the padding is well worth it, especially if you carry your computer with you nearly everywhere as I do. The material resembles memory foam, meaning the sleeve can (in theory) absorb a heavy, concentrated weight (i.e. say you accidentally drop a hammer on it) and prevent the energy of that weight from transferring to the outer casing of your Macbook. The aluminum shell of the Macbook will dent easily is you're not careful!

I recently bought this product for myself and I am really satisfied with how this product looks and feels. The memory foam feels somewhat hard, but I see that as a good thing because I want my laptop to be well protected incase I drop it. The zippers are smooth and nice looking. This is a really nice sleeve. It fits my 13 inch macbook white perfectly. The sleeve fits snugly and protects my laptop well. I dont have to worry about my laptop getting scratched up in my backpack when I am traveling.

I bought the Quik Cart when it first came out years ago. It is a MASSIVE waste of money. The extension handle began sticking-- and eventually froze-up permanently-- in less than a year.

I love these 2500 paper packs. I don't know why some reviews have has an issue with the paper quality; this is standard quality laser printer paper in a standard brightness level. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the product, and prints on it turn out beautiful in both black-and-white as well as color. The carton is now shipping nested in a larger, thicker brown cardboard box, so shipping problems described by other reviewers are a thing of the past (at least those caused by shipping the paper without proper protection). When Amazon puts these cartons on sale, they're much cheaper than buying a ream of individually wrapped paper like you get at an office big-box store. This is standard (and by standard I mean excellent) quality printing paper at a great price. You can't go wrong here.

If Amazon would ship the box within another box to protect it from damage and dirt, this product would be a great idea. Now I am stuck with a 2500 sheet box of paper that is dented, torn, dusty, and partially covered in an unknown sticky black residue.

I like these sleeves and I ordered them along with the Ideastream CD storage boxes. But the actual dimensions of the sleeves are 5.75"H X 5"W (including the title tab at the top). The Ideastream boxes are 5"H with the lid. This means that if the CD box is full, the titles have to be folded back in order for the lid to fit securely. I needed a phone to replace my very old 2 line phone with answering machine, and it was hard to find one. I finally found this one and it works great. The instructions were reasonably clear (I set it up myself) and it works as described. The sound is good, the answering machine can be set separately for each line, the buttons on the handset are well lit. At this point I've had the phone about 2 months, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Although it worked fine for a couple of years, this phone and the customer service from Panasonic turned out to be a headache, and I would not recommend that anyone buy this phone or any other Panasonic phone for that matter.
I own two of these phones; I have two separate bases, one with two handsets and the other with one handset. Around the same time, after being used for only two years, the answering systems on both phones began to malfunction. I could no longer delete messages or record a new voicemail greeting. The phone itself still worked fine, but it was of no use to me without a functioning answering system.
This product, which was supposed to be top-of-the line, obviously has some sort of design error or manufacturing error. I used the answering machine quite infrequently, so the problem could not be attributed to overuse. The fact that both phones are showing similar symptoms leads me to believe that there is a major fault in this model.
The only advice I received from the customer service representative from Panasonic was to a) send them in to get fixed for a service charge of $80 per phone, b) buy a new phone, or c) send them in and receive replacement, refurbished Panasonic phones. The "help"
they offered me was disgusting. There is no way I will ever touch a Panasonic product again, and there is no way I can go without a phone for a long period of time in order to send it to Texas for repairs.
Do NOT buy this phone if you are looking for a quality product.

I read through the reviews here on Amazon, but personally, I don't have a problem with anything mentioned so far. I like the size of the handset... My last Panasonic 2-line cordless (KX-TG2480) has a huge bulky handset which, by the way, started having problems; keypad stopped working properly. I was a bit skeptical to buy another, but I like this phone and I've generally had good luck with Panasonic products.
Anyway, setup was a breeze. You can record different outgoing messages for each line which is nice. Outgoing message sound quality is typical...Not any worse than my Uniden at home. Speaker phone with handset or base; Keypad on base; Intercom; Check messages remotely; Conference call; Caller ID... What else do you need?

This is the 2nd one of these I've bought. Works well, good range. Took some manual reading on the first one to figure out the menu system. Minor annoyance is that the 'missed calls' counter seems to count all calls, but I'm not sure, and it doesn't matter to me anyway. Speakerphone on each handset works very well. Got the new one through Amazon at the same price as used ones were auctioning for on eBay.

However, I called Brother's main line because I wanted some information about a typewriter. I had contacted the company via e-mail and had not received a response. First, the representative who answered did not listen to me and spoke so quickly that he directed me to the wrong department. When I called back, he gave me another number, then hung up with hardly a thank you. When I called the second number he gave me, this representative asked me what I product I wanted. I told him I didn't know; thus my call to ask questions. In response to this he asked for my phone number. I gave my phone number and expected to ask some questions; instead, he stated that in order to continue, he wished for more information (I had not even bought anything) but that if I didn't want to give any personal information, I had to say "refuse" or "continue." I said I just had some questions because I did not think he would need any personal info if I just wanted some answers without committing to buy anything. To my surprise, the gentleman stated again, (quickly and abruptly, like the first representative), "In order to continue, you -must- say "Refuse" or "Continue!") This felt very strange to me. I felt very robotic and awkward and forced myself to do what he told me to do -- i.e.; say "refuse." When I asked my questions, he listed serial numbers so quickly that I had to repeat them back and I -felt- he was extremely impatient. When my questions were answered, I said "Thank you," but he had already said a "Thank you" and had hung up!
This is just from a customer service point of view, and it is from brother's headquarters, not related to Amazon's sales, I believe. But just FYI. I still like and trust brother's -products- very much.
I called Smith Corona and a gentleman named Bill answered and was quite nice and directed me to the model that would suit my needs because he knew what questions to ask a customer -- I believe that as a company, one should expect a customer to know less about the company's product and to help educate the customer re: the company's products as opposed to being unreceptive to customers' questions.

I received this for a gift and am extremely happy with it. I love to write short stories but often have writer's block, so I'm excited to have a new format. The best part about this typewriter is that even though it's electronic, it still makes the familiar old "clacking" sound as you type, and has the familiar typewriter font--really sets the mood for creative writing. I wouldn't have expected a typewriter to have spell-check, but this one does--it makes a little dinging sound if you spell a word incorrectly, and gives you the ability to erase one letter, the word, or an entire line with the (included and already installed) correction tape. You can adjust the positioning of the paper yourself with the knob on the side, which would be helpful when filling out forms. Includes a keyboard cover to keep dust out of the keys, and a carrying handle. Overall, the typewriter is easy to set up and use.

If there are times when a computer just won't do, this is a great typewriter for the money. Despite the many features it has, it is very easy to learn to use and I have had no maintenance problems whatsoever. I purchased it to take the DC Bar Exam and it worked well over 6 hours of intensive use. The only issue I noticied was when typing in the Line Print mode, sometimes the words would merge together leaving a non-sensical word. Overall though, it held up well and performed up to expectations for my needs. Certainly a good product for the money.

I purchased this printer directly from HP in February 2009.
On one occasion I had to call HP Total Care for assistance in activating the Blue Tooth feature. After spending almost two hours on the phone speaking with a tech somewhere in the east, and being put on hold more than once as the tech sought asssistance from someone else, I had to hang up, as I felt I was going nowhere and the problem still exists.
Now, I am experiencing problems with ink cartridge continually hanging up or jamming. When the carrier jams, it produces a clacking sound loud enough to wake the dead. In order to free the carrier, I must gently push it to free it, and then it will print. I have been in contact with HP Total Care on three occassions, and each time I receive a list of possible solutions. Each time, the suggested remedies did not correct the problem. My latest response from HP is to forward a complete list of name,address, make, model, serial number, etc., and my phone number, and time of day I can be reached. This is not what I expected. I a trying to have HP honor the warranty,and replace the printer. But no response yet.

Not exactly sure what some of these people are experiencing that are giving bad reviews, but like most, I have nothing bad to say about this printer. I had to replace my old printer, which was also and HP, and junk, with this printer. Installation was a breeze. Less than 2 minutes for it to be set up. Didn't even have issues setting up the Wireless. The print quality is so much more than I would have ever expected. I printed off a picture that I had sent out to Kodak to have printed and I would have to say the print quality is 100% better than what I got back from Kodak. Printing on the cd's is extremely easy. I just wish I could print an entire picture instead of having special sections where the pictures would go. I would have to say that is the only downfall of the entire printer. The copy and scanning features are incredible.
If you need a new printer or just want to upgrade, I highly recommend this one. It is definately the best value for your money. I paid $149 at Office Max.

This isn't really a review, sorry.
It doesn't look like (m)any people are using Bluetooth with this printer (not that I'd blame you), just curious how it does/would work. Is the adapter for the computer, or the printer (or is it unclear)? USB or PCI(-e) or other?
Obviously, if it's a printer-specific device, one would need a Bluetooth adapter for the computer as well. If it's a PC/Mac adapter though, does the printer require additional hardware as well? That would seem odd, but stranger things have happened.
Also, maybe I just missed it, but there's no mention of duplex; I assume that is not an option.
Disclaimer: I do not own this printer (yet). Sorry for cluttering up the comments.

Although, like the other reviews, the set up is lengthy, the printer does work well. A little slower than my previous one, though.
Howver, the real issue I had was that the cartridges were missing from the box when I received it and I had to leave in the middle of the installation process to purchase new ones. I contacted HP and to date, ten days later, I had not gotten them to resolve this issue. Trying to call them is a nightmare.....you speak to someone on the other side of the world!

I bought two of these. The pictures each produced were heavily green tinged. I only printed a few pictures with each cartridge, using multiple software packages with an Epson PictureMate Deluxe. The Epson Picture Mate is an excellent printer, however and produces hundreds of excellent pictures when the ink is good and the cleaning cycle is used regularly.

Epson says that you get 100 prints for roughly $30 or 29-32cents per print. Having gone through a whole bunch of their cartridges, this is bunk! At best you get through about 50 prints before the ink runs out.
These bundles of paper and toner are a suckers bet from the company forcing you to build up piles and piles of expensive paper. If they appreciated their customers, they would offer a solo cartridge option

I got the item FAST! I hear different things about ink, and expiration. This box had an expiration of July 2009. It is May. This review loses a star because of the product...not those I bought it from. I had to use alot of the color to get it working! I was in the middle of a huge project using alot of ink. I put in the color from this pack, and the colors came out looking 'old'...faded...just wrong. I kept running my project through and kept cleaning the printer heads. It finally matched the first bit of my project and I finally proceeded. The amount of time I spent doing that was a waste. That is an HP/ink issue. The black in this pack was fine.

"Will not buy electronics from Amazon again." 2009-08-24

This product was sent to us with a faulty power supply. Also, the HP tech support made us aware of a bug in it that causes the printer to go into sleep mode and stay there. After having a replacement printer and then a new power supply sent to us, the printer works fine. But, we cannot install the firmware that will ensure we never have a problem with the sleep mode.
The print quality and scanner are exceptional, but I'm not sure all the technical headaches were worth going through for this product.

My wife picked this up for home use, and we've been very happy with it. I have a Canon PIXMA MX860 in my office, and love it, but it's a bit too hefty and large for the space we have for a printer at home. The HP Photosmart does exactly what we need at home, and fits well; in spite of a few early difficulties, we've been using it for a long time and have been quite satisfied.
We had a couple of troubles at first setting it up for wireless access - and ended up using a USB cable for a little while -- but then my wife spent some time with an HP rep on the phone, who helped her to set it up on her MacBook. After she had installed a firmware update for the printer that is available on HP's website, I was able to set it up on my own Mac laptop without any problems - I think part of the key (at least on the Mac) is having your firewall setup to allow wireless access for selected applications, including the HP Photosmart app. I had similar difficulties setting up my Canon, which (once again) I love, so I don't hold this against HP. Networking is always a bit tricky.
We've had this for about 10 months and have no other serious complaints. It seems to manage the ink better than our previous inkjet printer, it prints very quickly, and does a good job with color printing and even photos. The copier and scanner works very well. One feature you get with the Canon Pixma that you don't get here is the ability to convert a scanned document to a text file -- another feature is the built-in fax. If you need an all-around-office device, I'd recommend taking a look at the Pixma MX860, which is not all that much more expensive than this one. Still, for its more compact size and its overall utility, we've been quite happy with this one for home use.

I got this printer two days ago from a local shop, installed for my home wireless network which has four computers. Out of four computers, two are windows XP pro, one is windows XP pro / UBUNTU (linux) dual boot, one is windows xp home laptop. The first setup needs to be done via USB cable, but once you setup, you can take out the USB cable and use the printer as a network printer.
The full set of software from HP is too big, and have bugs. In my case, there is a component that always hangs during the shutdown process. But if you only install the basic driver, everything is fine. Printer works fine, scanner can be used by windows camera & scanner wizzard. Anything other than the basic device deriver are simply a waste of bandwidth.
UBUNTU was able to detect the printer off the wireless network easily, and automatically download driver files, and both scanner and printer works well under UBUNTU.
There can be fancier printers, but for $69.99, this is not a bad deal...

Trouble from the get go. Installation was difficult. Wireless installation impossible with Windows XP. HP support is useless...this I determined after hours online with various support personnel. Subsequent to installation, the problems are still many. Most frustrating of which is that the printer feeds multiple sheets of paper, no matter the weight, at sometimes an angle! I decided to junk the printer. I purchased, successfully installed and am now happily using a Cannon Pixma MX 860 for printing, copying and scanning.

I was looking for a cheap box cutter for my volunteer work. We distribute food at a food bank and so this cutter gets a lot of work and I was expecting it to get lost quickly. Everyone loves it since it is easier to spot than other grey/silver box cutters. It has cut a lot of tape, paper, industrial cling wrap, boxes, potato sacks and onion bag.
Used it a few months now and still not lost it amongst the chaos...mainly because of the color even with everyone borrowing it all the time.

For some reason or other utility knives have a problem staying home with me. I have always used another well known brand, but when time came to order some to replace my "wandering ones" - and going to Amazon to order, I saw the Irwin advertised and read a couple of the reviews. On the basis of ONE of the reviews, I ordered six of them - and am glad I did. What I had before came with only 1 blade, and you had to work to get the sides apart and back together. Not so with the Irwin. It came with 3 blades, well oiled, and was very easy to install one of them. Not only that, but the knife is slightly curved to give one more pressure and also, for me at least, a more accurate cut. I, like the other reviewer, highly recommend this utility knife.
